What the catalog shows

Public pricing is rarely one number.

1,637 tools (54.6%) expose at least one plan explicitly classified as free. 326 (10.9%) include a usage-based plan, while 21 (0.7%) include at least one public “contact sales” price label.

These groups can overlap. A tool may offer a free entry plan, a monthly team plan, usage charges, and an enterprise quote at the same time.

Methodology

Count labels, disclose limits.

Figures are calculated from active PricingTrace plan records. Each underlying tool retains an official pricing URL and verification time. Counts describe public labels, not negotiated quotes, regional taxes, promotions, or total cost of ownership.

AI

AI software pricing statistics

AI subscriptions often combine a plan fee with changing model access, usage allowances, credits, or generation limits. Compare the public billing label with the allowance that actually governs routine use.

Development

Development software pricing statistics

Developer platforms commonly combine subscriptions with metered compute, storage, bandwidth, seats, or build usage. A benchmark should separate recurring plan labels from the usage layer that can change the effective bill.

Design

Design software pricing statistics

Design software may distinguish editors, developers, guests, viewers, storage, and AI allowances. The headline plan label is only a starting point for estimating a team’s recurring cost.

Marketing

Marketing software pricing statistics

Marketing software prices frequently scale with contacts, sends, channels, profiles, or seats. Category benchmarks help expose how often free entry plans coexist with usage or audience-based expansion costs.

Collaboration

Collaboration software pricing statistics

Collaboration products can price by active member, billable seat, guest access, or workspace. Comparing billing structures before features helps prevent a low entry price from hiding a costly seat definition.

Business

Business software pricing statistics

Business software can mix subscriptions with transactions, usage, implementation, support, or add-ons. Aggregate plan labels provide a baseline, while the official source remains necessary for a complete buying estimate.
